Wastewater Lift Station Force Main Replacements

Overview

Force mains are pressurized pipes that use mechanical pumps to keep sewer water flowing through them. All pipes degrade over time, eventually needing repair or replacement. This construction is part of a larger project to install six new PVC and/or HDPE force main connections to lift stations (#1, 2, 4, 10, 12A, and 17) with all new valves, fittings, and appurtenances. The current cast-iron force mains range in age from 59-74 years of age.

• Lift Station 1 - replacing 1360 ft. of pipe, typically carries 73,000 gallons per day
• Lift Station 2 - replacing 3340 ft. of pipe, typically carries 108,000 gallons per day
• Lift Station 4 - replacing 1860 ft. of pipe, typically carries 101,000 gallons per day
• Lift Station 10 - replacing 3080 ft. of pipe, typically carries 706,000 gallons per day
• Lift Station 12A - replacing 1400 ft. of pipe, typically carries 89,000 gallons per day
• Lift Station 17 - replacing 720 ft. of pipe, typically carries 40,000 gallons per day
